Melody Gardot is an American jazz singer, writer and musician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania born on February 2, 1985 in New Jersey. She was hit by a Jeep Cherokee that ignored a red traffic light. In the accident she suffered serious head injuries. She had to re-learn how to do simple things such as brushing her teeth and walking and to this day she needs a cane to walk and, when performing, she sits on a special chair or stands. Besides that, she also became sensitive to both light and sound and has to wear dark glasses. Her Album “My One and Only Thrill” is one of my favorite albums this year , the perfect album to listen to when you want to daydream and take some time out. I’ve linked ya’ll up with two of my favorite videos one of her singing ‘Who will comfort me” from ”My One and Only Thrill” and another interview clip that talks about her experience, after her “mini-death”. Enjoy!
